Your First Visit: Precision, Comfort, and Clarity
At Atlas Specific Chiropractic, your first visit is all about understanding you—your history, your symptoms, and the root cause behind them. We know that if you’re here, you’ve likely tried other approaches without lasting results. That’s why we take the time to be incredibly thorough.
Your appointment begins with a one-on-one consultation where we discuss your health goals, previous care, and the specific issues that brought you in. From there, we perform a detailed examination focused on your head and neck, the area that protects your brainstem and connects your body’s communication pathways.
Next, we use a Tytron thermographic scanner, also known as a functional neurological scan, to measure heat patterns along your spine. These readings help us evaluate how well your nervous system is functioning and identify areas of imbalance or stress.
If the findings indicate a potential misalignment, we’ll take three precision x-rays of your upper neck—the atlas (C1) and axis (C2) vertebrae. These specialized views allow us to measure your exact misalignment down to the one one-hundredth of a degree and millimeter, ensuring every future adjustment is 100% customized to you.
Depending on what we find, you may receive your first upper cervical adjustment that same day, or we may wait until your next visit to review everything with you in detail. Either way, you’ll leave your first appointment knowing that we’re focused on accuracy, safety, and results—not guesswork.

Your second appointment is where everything comes together. We’ll sit down with you for a full Report of Findings, walking you through your scans, x-rays, and exam results. You’ll see exactly what we found, how it’s affecting your body, and what we can do to correct it.
At this visit, your doctor will explain your personalized care recommendations, including your first upper cervical adjustment if it wasn’t performed on day one. Using the AHKC (Advanced HIO Knee-Chest) technique, your adjustment will be gentle, precise, and tailored to your specific measurements—no twisting, cracking, or popping.
After your adjustment, we’ll recheck your scans to verify improvement and confirm that your body responded properly. This data-driven approach ensures that every correction we make is meaningful, measurable, and effective.
After your initial visits, your care plan will include follow-up adjustments at a frequency determined by your doctor. These visits are shorter and focus on maintaining proper alignment and nerve function while your body adapts and heals.
We’ll continue using the Tytron scans to track your progress objectively and confirm that your nervous system is functioning at its best. Many patients notice improvements in posture, energy, sleep, and pain levels within the first few weeks of care.
We’ll also share simple home recommendations—such as sleeping positions, hydration tips, and postural habits—to help your adjustment hold longer and promote long-term stability.

How Long Is the First Visit?
Please allow about 60–90 minutes for your first appointment. This gives us enough time to complete your consultation, functional scans, x-rays, and initial recommendations.
Your second visit typically lasts 30–45 minutes, depending on whether your first adjustment is performed that day.
What to Bring and How to Prepare
